Volunteering

We are fortunate to have an active group of volunteers making up the Leadership Team and Exec Committee at Chorleywood Scouts but we always need more.  We have waiting lists in all the sections due to the lack of adult volunteers and with additional help we could offer the adventure of Scouting for more boys and girls of Chorleywood and reduce the burden off our current volunteers.

Volunteering is easy, fun and flexible. How much time you give is completely up to you.  You don’t need to become a Leader and can help out in a wide variety of ways which needn’t take much of your time or can be done at your own convenience.

As well as gaining externally recognised skills and having a brilliant time, Scouting offers the chance to build on personal skills – teamwork, confidence and leadership.  Skills that are very relevant in everyone’s working and personal lives today.  Most importantly you are truly giving something back to the local community.

As long as you’re over 18, you can help out as an adult volunteer and there is no upper age limit.  If you have skills which you think might be useful in running a Scout group then please don’t hesitate to get in touch. These skills can be anything from accounting to tree surgery and everything in between!
